UH Rainbow Pediatric Dentistry

I am absolutely finished taking my child to this location. I drove over an hour and a half btw.My daughter is 8 years old and is autistic and non verbal. She is in extreme need of braces. I explained to her pediatrician how difficult its been to get her braces so he recommended this office. As soon as we get back there and I was telling the lady how relieved I am to finally get this done, she said that they do not normally do braces until the child is at least 10 and since she is autistic they dont know if she'd be able to even sit still and keep her mouth open. So right away I was discouraged as usual with the other orthodontist and dentists. So the plan was to see her again in 6 MONTHS! and that was only for a cleaning! They totally put her on the back burner so to speak. I couldn't help but to feel like she was again being neglected of her medical needs due to her autism, so I called to speak with the Dr. To let her know how I felt. My daughter clearly needs help, her two front teeth are extruded so far out that she cant even close her mouth and they are always getting injured by hitting them on things. The Dr called me back and proceeded to tell me that thats still the plan. We

Drove an hour and a half to this appt. It’s an absolute disaster here. Extremely chaotic environment. I arrived exactly at 1pm. Had to find the place and then wait in reception area to even check in. 20 mins later the lady at the front desk was by herself trying to check people in out and set next appts. She’s very slow and doesn’t have efficient computer skills. By the time I get to her after all these people, it’s 20 after 1. She tells me IM TOO LATE? But the girl in front of me had an appt at 1 and they took her. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND WOULD NEVER TRUST THEM WITH MY SPECIAL NEEDS CHILD. Not to mention it’s dirty. I’m literally driving home with my son and his cracked tooth. They need organization and the rude lady upfront needs training.

Super grateful to Krisha and the team. I showed up at midtown not realizing my son's appointment was at main campus. Krisha advocated for him and was able to squeeze him in anyway! I know how rare this is because usually they are booked six months out! I can't promise that this could happen every time, but the people here will advocate for your child. Thank you team!

The dentist accurately addressed my daughter’s oral issues. I chose fours stars because I really don’t enjoy talking to the receptionists. They always sound unpleasant like I’m bothering them or they hate being there. That is a pet peeve of mine. It was also hot, crowded and a very long wait. Then a rushed appointment because they are so overbooked. My 2 year old was all over the place. The dental assistants were very nice, trying to help me keep him distracted so thank you to them.

You have to wait over 6 months for the appointment for them to only cancel it less than 24 hours prior to the appointment without notice. I show up to my son's so-called appointment and they act like it's not an inconvenience for me to have to take my son out of school for a day and take off of work for a day to drive all the way to University hospital to be told that there's no doctors in office and all appointments were canceled and they tried to call everyone but didn't have my number but had my number to confirm less than 24 prior. Dental Assistant need to step it up and do their job correctly. And the Dentist in office need to show up for work why make children wait so long not to be seen
